Why Genius Around

The rational powers and abilities of each and every human being were attributed to his soul, which was a genius. Each individual place had a genius  and so did powerful objects.

This page is intended to provide inspiration and ideas. The meaning of genius here is not intended to mean a knowledgeable person but should rather be understood  in the mythological sense. A genius was thought to be a spirit that lives in certain places and by their touch they inspired people to creativity.

The genius was thought to reside in objects or places. Their inspirational power could be seen as external and at the same time internal to the person.

I hope that I can reach out to you and make this place inspiring to you so that you can take away something and maybe even leave me with a comment or feedback that might inspire me.

This blog is intended to be a place where we can learn from each other and maybe exchange ideas. I hope that there are genii around while you are reading around here or that I can at least inspire you to think about certain topics.

In order to not lock the genius in, I have decided to publish most of my posts under the Creative Commons License. Sharing knowledge or ideas is different from sharing goods because the owner does not lose anything. With that in mind, I try to keep my ideas open source in order for people to be able to build upon them. Whenever you see that one of my blog posts is affiliated to the CC license, you are free to share, transform and build on it as long as the resulting work is also published under Creative Commons. I would be happy to read or see what you came up with, if you decide to use my work but it is not required that you inform me. However, be aware that not all of my posts are Creative Commons and thus might not be used.

Sincerely

Joel
